Four years ago, Castle had the privilege of introducing ReAttach into their practice, noting significant enhancements across all levels of their operations. “ReAttach has enhanced every level of the work that we do, supporting adolescents who’ve experienced real troubles and traumas,” she explains. This method has helped the children, developed the staff team, and extended support to the families and wider communities involved.
Working in a trauma-saturated environment presents unique challenges. Castle discusses how children’s trauma often spills over, impacting the staff. “Being able to support the staff team to be more resilient and to resist harmful behaviors is crucial,” she says. ReAttach has been instrumental in helping staff move past personal and professional barriers, enhancing their abilities as practitioners.
Castle shares her success with ReAttach, particularly with overcoming a growing fear of heights, which convinced her of its versatility. “It’s opened up for me that there is such a wide variety of things it’s going to be opened up for sleep, trauma, helping people to pass their driving tests, and even a fear of animals,” she recounts.
According to Castle, the best feedback comes from team recommendations. “So many people within our organization and wider have had such positive results and outcomes from it,” she states, emphasizing the widespread acceptance and effectiveness of ReAttach within her organization.
Castle encourages other organizations and individuals to explore ReAttach for themselves. “Come and get in touch with Paula and her institute. Explore what ReAttach looks like for you as an organization. Get your colleagues to experience it and make your judgments from there because you will experience nothing but positivity.” she advises.
