Alemke was introduced to ReAttach two years ago following a personal experience that convinced her of the method’s power. She shares about a traumatic experience following the death of her dog, where ReAttach helped her effectively process her intense grief and guilt. “Within two hours after the treatment, my pain was gone,” Alemke shares. This moment was so influential that she decided to train in ReAttach to implement it in her practice.
In her therapy, Alemke notices a significant improvement in results since integrating ReAttach. She describes a recent example of a young man with burnout, who was experiencing severe muscle tension and panic attacks. Alemke chose not only to work body-oriented but also to apply the W.A.R.A, a ReAttach technique to quickly reduce negative affect (Wiring Affect with ReAttach).
The young man felt an immediate reduction in his panic symptoms after applying W.A.R.A. “He was amazed at how quickly the feeling went away,” tells Alemke. Three days after the treatment, he called her to report that he no longer suffered from panic attacks and that he could apply the W.A.R.A. exercise himself when he felt the panic rising. This allowed the young man to help himself in situations as they occurred.
Alemke notes that whereas she previously would start with body-oriented therapy, she now often begins with W.A.R.A., which has a rapid effect and gives clients new control over their symptoms. “These are beautiful examples that I encounter in practice. Where I would normally start working body-oriented, I now start with W.A.R.A., and you already see so much effect,” she concludes enthusiastically.
